Stretching from the Firth of Forth in the South to the Firth of Tay in the North the coastal path offers a route for everyone. The coastal path is full of wildlife, history and culture not to forget the beautiful scenery.
Walk through Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve and Forest and you will find a pine-scented forest, windswept sands and a wonderful range of wildlife. Off the beaten track, Tentsmuir has many trails that are ideal for walking, cycling or horse riding. Tentsmuir has lots of history too, on your visit you will be following the footsteps of Pictish cattle herders, Kings hunting boar and bear and soldiers building defences. Once you have finished exploring why not enjoy a picnic.
West Sands is the largest beach in St Andrews and extends for almost two miles. The South end of the beach featured the opening sequence of the Oscar winning film, Chariots of Fire. The North end of the beach is popular with kite surfers and overlooks the Eden Estuary Reserve that is home to birds and seals.
